Millipedes normally live outdoor in damp places. They are commonly found outside the home in flowerbeds and gardens. People find millipedes under mulch, piles of dead leaves, or under piles of grass clippings. They thrive in places where the soil stays damp. They are also commonly found in crawlspaces, since this is their perfect habitats.
